Manual Therapy is a procedure that consists of passive movement to joints and soft tissues, and just like the name implies, is a hands-on, skilled movement that your therapist may use to improve your body’s ability to move well. Manual therapy may also be called by other terms including joint mobilization, manipulation, or soft tissue mobilization.
Treatment may include joint manipulation, assisted muscle stretching, passive movements of the affected body part, or moving against your therapist’s manual resistance to improve muscle activation and timing. Selected specific soft tissue techniques may also be used to improve the mobility and function of tissue and muscles.
